Meet David
David Schatz Self taught artist David Schatz describes his favorite subject, florals, as “an extremely serious subject. The tremendous variety of shapes, colors and reflected light provide an unending supply of subject matter.” Schatz describes his painting as “realism,” which was influenced by Andrew Wyeth. He strives to paint his florals exactly as he sees them in nature. His many trips to private gardens and public arboretums have resulted in thousands of reference photographs used to paint an excited variety of the most beautiful flowers. Schatz’s art has been featured in the Louisiana Watercolor Annual Exhibit and the Texas Watercolor Society Annual Exhibit. He currently resides in Oregon.
