The Artist

Tim Jessell

Tim Jessell began drawing ever since he could hold a pencil and became a professional illustrator.

After graduating from Terre Haute South Vigo High School (Terre Haute, IN) Jessell made his way to Oklahoma via a full art scholarship to the University of Tulsa. In 1986, while visiting New York City, the summer before his senior year, he saw a statute in Central Park called “The Falconer” – something clicked. From that moment on, Tim pursued becoming a falconer (going on 30 years now). Tim and wife, Ragan raised three children in Stillwater, OK, and are enjoying their two recent grandchildren. Tim is also an adjunct professor at Oklahoma State University, being named “Professor of the Year” for the college of Arts & Sciences.

Tim has authored and illustrated two picture books: “Amorak” and “Falcon”. Tim’s work has received numerous honors and awards. His work can also be found at timjessell.com
